Focusing in on Vision Health
Ensuring the wellness of your vision is paramount! Numerous factors can influence or impact your eye health. Prioritizing your overall well-being can significantly mitigate the risks of conditions that may jeopardize your eyesight. Embracing a nutritious diet and an active lifestyle are instrumental in fostering a healthy existence, thereby reducing the likelihood of ailments like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, which can adversely affect vision.
Moreover, safeguarding your eyes physically is equally crucial. Wearing sunglasses with 99 to 100 percent UVA and UVB radiation protection shields your eyes from the harmful effects of the sun. Additionally, safety glasses and goggles serve as formidable barriers against foreign objects and dust, particularly vital in work settings. However, it is also encouraged to wear safety glasses and goggles while playing sports and during home maintenance including construction or demolition.
Keeping your eyes clean by washing your hands before handling your eyes or contact lenses promotes optimal vision. Furthermore, incorporating breaks to rest your eyes is highly recommended. Simply redirecting your gaze to a point approximately 20 feet away for 20 seconds can provide much-needed respite.
In the pursuit of healthy eyesight, let’s not overlook the importance of these proactive measures. Remember, safeguarding your vision today ensures clarity and vitality for tomorrow.

Employee Spotlight: Steve Jump
Meet Steve Jump, a seasoned professional with a vibrant personality. At 57 years young, Steve’s been happily married to his best friend, Linda, for over 25 years. Steve is a proud father of three daughters and grandfather to three adorable kiddos, though he admits he does not get to see them as much as he would like – he cherishes every moment spent together.
As a US Navy veteran, Steve’s diverse background includes serving as an electrician and data systems tech. His love for technology began in high school, where he learned to program computers, and it has been a passion ever since. An avid reader since childhood, Steve’s relaxation and stress relief come from spending time in his home woodshop, and crafting projects that friends and family cannot get enough of. When he is not working in the woodshop, Steve enjoys tinkering with projects around the house.
In the professional realm, Steve fosters a relaxed family-like atmosphere at work, emphasizing teamwork among team members. He believes in making the workplace enjoyable for everyone and discovered early on that a simple “please” and “thank you” go a long way.
Before joining Stratosphere, Steve spent 15 years in the automotive parts manufacturing industry. His roles included being a material handler, operating power equipment for a Tube Mill, and supervising production teams. Steve’s diverse experience also extends to quality control, where he measured and gauged parts, adjusted and repaired gauges, and even trained to operate and program a CMM.
Stratosphere caught Steve’s eye when a recruiter reached out after he posted his resume on Indeed. Impressed by what he found online, Steve joined the Stratosphere family, bringing his enthusiasm for daily interactions with customers and team members. Designing and setting up sorts, being creative with sorting processes, and embracing innovative technological advancements at Stratosphere are sources of joy for Steve.
Away from the office, Steve loves the opportunity to travel to new areas and work sites. He is also enthusiastic about training new team members, whether they are QI’s, Team Leads, or Project Supervisors. Steve’s advice? Never shy away from asking questions, and pay close attention to training until you are comfortable with the task at hand.
There is more to Steve than just his professional side. He wants everyone to know that it is okay to disagree and still be friends. Embracing diversity of thought, belief, and feeling is what makes the world an incredible place, according to Steve. So, let us celebrate our differences and make the journey together unforgettable! Cheers to Steve Jump!
