Embrace the New Year with Purpose and Positivity!

Happy New Year! As we bid farewell to 2023 and embrace the possibilities that the future holds, let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve had together and look forward to the exciting adventures that await us in 2024.

The start of a new year is not only a time for resolutions but also an opportunity for personal and professional growth. As we step into 2024, let's make a conscious effort to set meaningful goals that inspire us to reach new heights. Whether it’s advancing in your career, learning a new skill, or achieving a personal milestone, this is the perfect time to envision your aspirations and pave the way for success.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s crucial to prioritize our well-being. Remember, a healthy mind and body are the foundation for a prosperous and fulfilling life. Take the time to nurture your physical and mental health – whether it’s through regular exercise, mindfulness practices, or simply finding moments of peace in the chaos.

Staying active is not just about physical fitness; it’s also about staying engaged and connected. Let’s commit to fostering strong connections with our co-workers, friends, and family. In a world that often seems fast-paced and unpredictable, understanding and kindness are more important than ever. Let’s strive to see beyond the surface, to empathize, and to be kind to one another. Small acts of kindness can have a ripple effect, creating a positive and supportive environment where we can all thrive.

As we embark on 2024 together, let’s carry the spirit of optimism and resilience. Our collective strength lies in the bonds we share, the goals we pursue, and the kindness we extend to one another.

Wishing you a year filled with joy, growth, and success!

Employee Spotlight: Dan Douglas

Happy New Year SQ! We are kicking off 2024 with a spotlight on one of our Project Managers in the southern Indiana region, Daniel ‘Dan” Douglas.

Before coming to Stratosphere Quality, Dan worked in multiple fields. Dan worked for an air freight and logistics company, in the restaurant industry, and for a boat manufacturer, just to name a few. Dan had originally applied for a position with Manpower, that original position did not work out and he was placed as a DQI with Stratosphere Quality. (We feel it worked out for the best!) Dan was converted to SQ employee in March 2013, promoted to Team Leader in April 2013, promoted to Project Supervisor in August 2013, and is now a Project Manager working under Donald Torrence in our southern Indiana region since June 2023.

Dan enjoys a fast-paced and collaborative work environment reaching toward a team end goal. Dan tries to foster this in his teams through communication and coaching. Dan says: “I look at everything I touch as if this could be mine or a family member’s.” And he tries to give his teams the same type of mindset on everything they touch. Dan appreciates the people and the culture at SQ. In his personal opinion, we have some of the best people around working at SQ. Dan states, that for a company with such a large footprint, he enjoys SQ’s family focus and atmosphere.

To the new employees coming into SQ, be flexible and open to change. Our business and our company are constantly evolving and being open to change will set you up for a happy work experience.

Some things to know about Dan, he was born the week of Thanksgiving, which happens to be his favorite holiday. He grew up in the Toledo, OH area and is a big sports fan, especially Michigan football (Go Blue!) Dan has attended the University of Toledo and received several certificates in leadership from Vincennes University. Dan has a son, Ethan, who is 12 years old and has cerebral palsy. Dan had a daughter, Trista, whom he lost at the age of 2 in 2015. When not working, Dan enjoys spending time with his son, cooking (even aspiring to create his own BBQ sauce), tending to his yard, golfing, and watching sports either in person or on TV, enjoying college football, college basketball, minor league baseball, and wrestling.

Dan wishes he could fix the intolerance of others. He feels that society has become quick to resort to hatred and violence if we disagree with the way someone acts, dresses, their political beliefs, religious beliefs, or the life they live. Dan thinks it would be great if people could have a dialogue and find a middle ground or even agree to disagree rather than finding a way to hurt or eliminate those who are not the same.

We appreciate everything you are doing for SQ, keep up the great work!

Pets of the Month

We would love to see your pet, send in a picture and description to sqnewsletter@stratospherequality.com

Maggie

Meet Maggie, the furry bundle of fun and charm! Maggie is a delightful 5-month-old Black Lab/Pitbull mix. Rescued from a field, alongside her brother Zeus, both pups found loving homes. This charming pup is a social butterfly, spreading joy to everyone she meets—be they two-legged or four. Maggie’s affectionate spirit is evident as she cuddles with her favorite toy, a stuffed lambchop, gifted to her for Christmas by her Granny. Maggie’s favorite season is autumn, she loves chasing the fallen leaves blowing down the sidewalk on her walks. Watch out for this clever canine, though—she has a talent for snatching cheeseburgers when nobody's watching! In addition to her mischievous side, Maggie flaunts her intelligence by showcasing tricks like sitting, staying, shaking hands, lying down, and even jumping! -- Pet parent: Harley Carico / Customer Service Analyst
