American Heart Month and Valentine’s Day Self-Care
February brings two themes we love to celebrate at SQ, heart health and self-love. It’s the perfect time to pause, check in with yourself, and take simple steps that support your overall well-being.
American Heart Month: Take Care of Your Heart
Heart disease remains one of the leading health concerns in the U.S., and the best defense is preventative care. Small choices add up. Regular checkups, movement, hydration, sleep, and knowing your numbers, blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose, all make a meaningful difference.

Valentine’s Day, A Reminder to Practice Self-Love
Valentine’s Day is a reminder that love starts with you. Before the cards, chocolates, or celebrations, take a moment to ask yourself:
What brings you joy?
This February, we encourage you to set aside 30 minutes a day just for you. No multitasking. No guilt. Just a moment of your own choosing.
Some ideas:
- Take a quiet walk
- Read a few pages of a book
- Meditate or stretch
- Journal your thoughts
- Listen to music you love
- Disconnect from your devices
- Make yourself a warm drink and slow down
Remember, caring for yourself helps you show up better for everyone else.
Support for Your Emotional Well-being
Your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Along with behavioral health benefits through Anthem and wellness tools through HealthJoy, all employees also have access to The Standard’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Employee Spotlight: Ariyan Beachem
This month, we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Ariyan Beachem, a dedicated team member whose energy, leadership, and passion for people help make SQ a stronger, more supportive workplace.
Ariyan is a Fort Wayne native with a bright smile and an adventurous spirit. When she’s not at work, she spends time with her three beloved pitbulls, Jase, Nelle, and Cali, whom she proudly calls her “kids.” Photogenic and always ready for her next adventure, Ariyan loves to travel, see the world, and meet new people wherever she goes.
At work, Ariyan thrives in a positive, friendly atmosphere and works hard to foster that same environment for her teams. She enjoys roles where she can train, mentor, and inspire others, passing along the knowledge she’s gained throughout her journey with SQ. Encouragement defines her leadership style. She makes it clear to her team that she’s not just directing the work, she’s working right alongside them.
Before joining SQ, Ariyan worked as a sales associate at Finish Line, a job that helped her develop a strong customer service mindset and people-focused approach.
Ariyan first came to SQ through Hoosier Personnel, a temp service she connected with in December 2020. What started as a placement quickly became a career she’s proud to grow in, and she’s been with SQ ever since.
For Ariyan, the reason she continues to build her future at SQ is simple: opportunity. She values the chance to learn something new every day, gain fresh skills, and take meaningful knowledge with her as she grows.
Ariyan’s biggest piece of wisdom?
Ask questions. Lots of them.
The more you ask, the more you learn. She also emphasizes the importance of strong relationships, whether with customers or coworkers. “Interaction goes a long way,” she says, encouraging new team members to build connections that help everyone succeed.

Lily
Meet Lily! The Support Center’s Newest (and Cutest) Productivity Booster.
Lily is a 7‑month‑old Jack Russell Terrier and a tiny ball of pure enthusiasm! When Lily joined the Wise family back in October, she weighed just 4 pounds—small enough to fit in one hand—but she’s been growing fast and making her personality known. Lily is full of energy, full of snuggles, and always ready for a challenge. True to her Jack Russell roots (originally bred as expert rodent hunters!), she prefers puzzle feeders for mealtime—sniffing, digging, and working for her kibble like the clever pup she is. Whether she’s zooming around the house or curling up for a cuddle, Lily brings big joy in a small package!
